Position: Senior Accountant

Pay: $90,000-$100,000

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a company in St. Petersburg, FL. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, managing key accounting processes, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting with annual audit requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial information is complete, accurate, and properly recorded.
• Identify account discrepancies, investigate root causes, and drive issues through to resolution.
• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards and company procedures.
• Prepare and recommend adjusting journal entries, process improvements, and corrective actions as needed.
• Take ownership of month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all close activities.
• Assist with annual financial audits by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
• Participate in special projects, system implementations, and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with applicable accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
